Important news items
Privacy policy
The privacy policy of our website has been completely reworked and updated to the correct rules.A lawyer from Corbus lawyers has taken care of this for us. Very soon we will receive the correct cookie policy and then we will be all set with everything.
The lawyer also looked at the VR project we are working on. Custom texts were created for this, so that users of the VR application know perfectly well what is happening. Additional documents will need to be signed, but thanks to this step, we are back in full compliance with GDPR agreements.
You will also notice at the bottom of this newsletter that from now on you can also unsubscribe from this newsletter (we obviously hope you don't do this :), but you can). Furthermore, you can also have your personal information reviewed, modified and/or deleted. Everything again completely in accordance with the rules of the GDPR. Asbl SuperNils as a professional organisation ... we keep getting better and better!

This year we were already privileged to receive 8 pallets of material from this wonderful company. All new boxes of beautiful and durable toys ... for young children, but this time also for older youngsters (AYAs). Very soon we will start distributing the gift boxes to our partner hospitals. There they can be donated to children and young people who are struggling because of their illness and treatment, but also to children of sick parents. They too are entitled to some support. After all, they are also going through a very difficult journey.
At the distribution, we are going to give LEGO a good spotlight. What these people do for our organisation (and therefore for our target group) cannot be described in words.
Our podcast
Expanding podcast
Soon we will be recording new episodes of the podcast "Leukaemia, SuperNils Boostfactory". A nice chat with Katrien Claes from Casa Callenta and our new collaboration, is already on the calendar.
Furthermore, an inclusion with UZA Foundation is also important. After all, we are going to work firmly with them to make the launch of our VR project a real event, with press coverage, presence of sponsors and funders and, hopefully, a group of AYAs. Because, of course, it's for them we do it all! What we all want to do, you will be able to hear then.
Project operation
SuperNils SuperVerse in the last line ...
Our VR project is currently working on the last (still long) straight line to launch. This will take place at the end of August 2025, probably in the auditorium of the UZA in Edegem-Wilrijk.
Venar, with pennies from Roche, is developing two more games within the area.
Yesterday, Tuesday 3 June, we shot a 360° video in Antwerp. City guide Luc Dielen turned it into a beautiful experience, which will soon be featured within the SuperNils SuperVerse!
Later, we will shoot another video at the Kalmthoutse Heide and maybe another one at the Sprookjespad in Brasschaat (Toerisme Brasschaat wants to collaborate on this!).
In the month of June, the 360° videos will be shot at dance school MOSA in Liège. This also marks the integration of the dance project within the SuperNils SuperVerse.
The information project with the wisdom tower is being filled, with the many videos we have already been privileged to receive from the hospitals.
Youssef from Venar updates the environment, adapts things to feedback from the test group and makes sure our sponsors and supporters are nicely integrated.
Robert is in the process of writing out a manual and necessary documents for the VR cases.
In short, this beautiful project can soon be launched and commissioned at the hospitals and Casa Callenta. And that will happen with drum roll and the necessary attention! We will make it a real event!
NEW: SuperNils online Studio.
For the social grants of Foundation Against Cancer 2025, we submitted a project "SuperNils online Studio" on 4 June. This is to be an online art studio, where, with the support of videos on the website, patients can learn to draw, paint, make fortune dolls, sew, knit, ...
At the start, there will be 4 films around drawing and painting figures, animals, landscapes and 1 film for making a lucky doll. From the project, patients could also get the necessary materials at the hospital. Another vessel of relaxation and distraction, just to support mental well-being.

An AYA application for the near future.
The collaboration with Casa Callenta will already allow this application to get off the ground faster. In the week of 2 June, initial discussions already took place with a potential development company. They were already keen to develop the web application for us.
From the discussions with AYAs from KOTK's sounding board group, we were able to select the following useful tools: diary, question book, friend book, personal calendar, chat functions, video calls, information links, participation in online activities and an AI buddy as a playmate. All this in one environment, all in one!
Talks will now follow with KOTK and UZ Gent, as they too have ideas for developing an application. Joining hands is therefore important.
For this project, we will possibly apply to The Warmest Week 2025. Deadline is 18 June, so that will be exciting.
In the spotlight
Open house Casa Callenta
From now on, we have a constructive cooperation with the Casa Callenta open house in Brasschaat-Schoten. Here, AYAs can come for information evenings, but also family weekends or AYA holidays.
This collaboration is important to us because it gives a nice access to the AYA group. By participating in the info evenings, we can make our operation more widely known and spread the word. And for Casa Callenta, we have materials they can use during the meetings with AYAs. so a WIN-WIN for both.
