Some TIPS
and TRICKS

A VR experience can cause "Motion Sickness" in some people. Therefore, we would like to give you some tips on how to avoid this.

Tips provided by Coolblue customer service

TIP 1: Adjust your glasses properly

There are a number of settings on the VR glasses that help. By turning down the brightness of the VR glasses, you reduce the stimuli your brain receives and has to process. As a result, your brain adapts better and you are less affected by the moving images. It is also important that you adjust the lenses correctly. That way, your image is always sharp and your brain receives less stimuli from your eyes.

TIP 2: Take sufficient breaks

Do you start to feel dizzy while playing? Then stop playing immediately, at least until the dizziness goes away. This will prevent your brain from associating the smell and feel of the VR glasses with the feeling of motion sickness. Stop before you get dizzy and build your tolerance slowly.

Feeling really uncomfortable while gaming in VR?
- Take off the headset right away.
- Lie flat on the floor or sit on a chair and keep your head still.
- Keep breathing well and deeply.
- Open a window for fresh air.

TIP 3: Some practical tips

Before putting on the VR glasses, make sure you have eaten and drunk enough. Check your breathing and breathe calmly. Take breaks when you feel things are slowing down. Also, put a fan on yourself or open a window when playing for fresh air.

TIP 4: Train your brain

Build up the playing time slowly to train your brain. So you use the VR glasses for longer and longer periods without complaints. Start with 10 minutes and slowly build up. By getting the brain used to virtual reality, you ensure that you avoid motion sickness.

TIP 5: Choose your game carefully

Not every VR game or experience has the same frames per second all the time. takes. Gaps in the image create confusion in the brain because it only happens visually. The rest of your body just keeps spinning. If you are extra prone to motion sickness, you would do well to choose a game with teleportation as a means of locomotion.

Are you just getting started with VR? Then choose a game where you stay in one place and have to look around you like Beat Saber. More experienced, though? Then try Population One or Arizona Sunshine.

TIP 6: Get the specifications right

With Virtual Reality, it is important that images run smoothly and sensors register your movements properly.

Do you use active VR glasses like a Meta Quest 3? Then the sensors need to be clean. It's also important that you have a stable Wi-Fi connection so you don't have hiccups while gaming. Is your image not looking right? Hold down the HOME button on the controller and the image will be right in front of you again.

Do you use passive VR glasses in combination with a PC or laptop? Then it is important that your PC or laptop has the right specifications. You check this on the product page. You also work with external bass stations, which must hang in the right place. This way, your movements are always properly registered.

TIP 7: Use the right keys on your controller

If you want to move around in the VR environment, use button A to jump from one place to another. It is best not to use the small joystick on the left controller (move), as this can cause nausea.
Then again, turning with the joystick on the right controller is possible.
