Our website... completely revamped!

SuperNils is currently working with Master's students in professional communication and management at the University of Antwerp to improve its communication style and thereby achieve greater impact. One of the comments we received from the students was that the website was very cluttered and not particularly user-friendly. You could find everything... after a long search. A valid point!

That is why we immediately set to work to completely revamp the website and integrate the new corporate identity. This was delivered in mid-December by Graphic Design students from AP University College in Antwerp.

Just before the end of the year, we were able to put the website back online. All links should now be working and the information should be easier to find. It's up to you to test it out, of course. Feel free to give us your feedback via the contact form on the website.

Our podcast

Please bear with us for a moment...

At present, there is no new information to report regarding the podcast.
In 2026, we will record the final intro for AYAmplified. The English version still needs to be recorded.
In the course of 2026, we will record a number of podcast episodes with AYAs. This will be done in collaboration with Casa Callenta and the AYA programme of Kom op tegen Kanker (Fight Against Cancer).

Project operation

Nilspire Me ... a web application for AYAs with cancer

The development of our web application commenced at the end of 2025.

Thanks to additional input from Casa Callenta, the team at Purple Panda was able to start developing the chat function. We are currently testing this tool so that Purple Panda can iron out any bugs and make improvements.

Thanks to Warmste Week 2025, SuperNils will receive a substantial amount in 2026 for the further development of additional tools, such as a diary, friends book, AI buddy, information tool, video tool and supporting tools for recording medication and parameters.

However, during the initial development phase, we encountered some major, but not insurmountable, problems. The big GDPR beast reared its head again. The rules for a web application are even more complicated than those for the VR application. That means we need a solicitor. Glenn Fredrix (Corbus) have been re-engaged. However, as the matter requires even more expertise, a second law firm has now been engaged. Nele Somers and her colleagues from ARTES from Antwerp, are now also working for us. This work will take a big chunk out of our budget, but it is really necessary to avoid problems later on. Fortunately, the lawyers are working for free for the good cause, but even so, we are talking about several thousand pounds, which cannot be used for the full development of our application itself.

If anyone would like to sponsor these necessary costs, you are always welcome :).

VR project is running...

In the meantime, the VR kits have been distributed to all our partner hospitals. On 7 January, we will visit VITAZ in Sint-Niklaas to deliver the last boxes. By then, we will have reached more than 1,800 patients with this project!

We have already received reports from Leuven that the box is being borrowed frequently, which is great news. I expect to receive some figures from all hospitals soon, which will give us an initial picture of how it is being used.

In February, Youssef van Venar will return to Liège to re-record the dance film in Dutch. After editing, two Dutch-language films will be available in the VR tool.

In May, we will visit Brasschaat Park to record a fairy tale film, so that there will also be something available for the younger patients.

This project is therefore never finished. We continue to provide new input to ensure that the challenge remains sufficiently challenging.

In the spotlight

These people deserve a PAT ON THE BACK

Today, I would like to put all the nursing staff, doctors, professors, carers, physiotherapists and researchers in the spotlight.

These people deserve a big thank you for all the work they do, every day... even now during the festive season. During my visits to 13 hospitals, I have met enthusiastic, active and highly committed people. Thank you for your dedication! It is not said often enough, which is why we are giving it extra attention in our newsletter!

THANK YOU MERCI THANK YOU
