DWW 2025 ... Yes, non-profit organisation SuperNils is there!!!

We submitted a great project to the King Baudouin Foundation to have an app developed specifically for AYAs with cancer in Belgium. Among other things, the content of the app was discussed and developed with the help of AYAs from KOTK's Sounding Board Group, led by Kathleen Van Walle.

And so on 29 September, we received positive news. Our project was co-selected, along with 210 other beautiful projects. Hopefully DWW will raise many pennies so that we can realise this beautiful project for AYAs with cancer!

Patient organisation can become an important partner!

During Levensloop Schoten, the people of CMP Flanders were at the stand of vzw SuperNils. Their members walked along for our organisation so that we could contribute more pennies to the Foundation Against Cancer.

Naturally, during such a long weekend, people talk a lot to each other. And so the idea arose to invite vzw SuperNils to the annual congress of CMP Flanders. There, our organisation could then be introduced to a wide audience of patients, which would give us more exposure. Such a cooperation could also be expanded with other patient organisations.

Workshop AYAs

On 2 October 2025, vzw SuperNils has been invited to participate in a Workshop on AYA functioning. The workshop will take place at the RIZIV in the presence of the cabinet of the Minister of Public Health (Frank Vandenbroucke). This cabinet indicated that this could perhaps be the start of a new and beautiful collaboration.

So recognition for our organisation!

We are almost there ... our "cookies" are almost baked

Vzw SuperNils engaged a lawyer to review both privacy policy and cookie policy of our operation and the website and bring them fully in line with current legislation.
The new privacy policy can already be found on the website.
The cookie policy is currently being finalised. It will soon also be available for consultation and consent via an updated banner.

Even within the VR project "The World of AYA", a lot of attention went to the privacy of our patients. The same lawyer provided us with the appropriate agreements and forms, which patients must use to give permission before using the application. More info at the specific project on the website.

Our podcast

Ayamplified, a podcast for and by AYAs with cancer

Very soon, the English-language version of the trailer will be included.

Then we can start filming several episodes with AYAs. We will ask them general questions about how they experience and cope with their illness and treatment. Important here is that we focus on positivity and the will to move on. That way, we can also provide other fellow sufferers with the necessary tools and tips.

We will start recording with AYAs associated with Casa Callenta and KOTK's AYA work.

Project operation

Launching VR project was a success!

On Tuesday 9 September 2025, the VR project "The World of AYA" was officially launched. This took place in the presence of a delegation from Foundation Against Cancer, with CEO Koen Van Impe leading the way. Furthermore, all our partner hospitals were represented, either physically or online, several sponsors and partners were present, a delegation of KOTK-AYA-werking and several members of vzw SuperNils. One thing was certain ... everyone was wildly enthusiastic about the result shown and the hospitals are eager to start using the VR case.
You can do that very soon! Venar still has to work out some final, minor bugs and then the new VR glasses can be fine-tuned. After that, people from SuperNils will start delivering them to partner hospitals, with a word of explanation, of course. That should happen before the end of this calendar year!

Motion case - extension

During Levensloop Schoten, non-profit organisation SuperNils received the Levensloop Grant for the expansion of the movement case. With the 4154 euros and additional sponsorship from Daiichi Sankyo (3630 euros), we can put together additional cases for the new partner hospitals. This way, every hospital can use the same offer. Distribution of the suitcases to the new hospitals will already start in October.

In addition, we can offer each partner hospital a little extra. They may choose from four extra exercise packages: a package with stepper, chair bike and aerobic step // a package with exercise bike // a package with treadmill // a package with extra exercise equipment (cf. an extra suitcase). The distribution of these will also be finalised as soon as possible.

In the spotlight

Levensloop Schoten 2025 was a great success!

No less than 55 000 euros were raised for the Foundation against Cancer. Money that will be used for scientific research, but also to support projects like that of non-profit organisation SuperNils.

For our organisation, this Levensloop was also a great success. We had a lot of visitors to our stand, who wanted more information about our operation and the packages. The CEO of the Foundation against Cancer came to greet us and also showed a lot of interest. We were also able to make contacts for the further development of our organisation and received a lot of attention from the press and spectators. A TOP weekend in other words!

Recognition tax certificates until 2028 !!!

Vzw SuperNils was informed via registered mail that its accreditation for issuing tax certificates was extended until 2028. So the financial inspection of our organisation was found to be positive, which is obviously great news.
