Tax certificates ... finally a reality!
We finally received official notification (via our accountant) that asbl SuperNils may issue tax certificates in 2023 as well as 2024. This will be followed by another inspection with evaluation and hopefully we will get further approval for the coming years.
So that means that all those who have made a donation of 40 euros or more are going to receive such a certificate in spring 2024. You can then attach that to your 2024 tax return (income 2023).
And it's not too late! Those who donate now can also obtain such a tax certificate.
People who are entitled to a certificate are still going to be written to pass on their national registration number (for companies/companies, this is the company number). We need this to prepare the certificates. Of course, the data will not be used for any other purposes, as stated in our privacy policy.

The advisory council of entrepreneurs is born!
We have a true advisory board of entrepreneurs. Six entrepreneurs are committed to making our organisation better, bigger and more professional. They promote vzw SuperNils in their own network and try to persuade other companies and businesses to sponsor our organisation. They help think about the right marketing, corporate identity, etc.
The first meeting took place in October 2023. There we thought about possible sponsorship packages, packages that should be a win-win for both the company and non-profit organisation SuperNils (in return for sponsorship, companies can get something in return from SuperNils --> advertising, full access to the website for their employees, telephone support, ...).
Advisory board name: Heart and Mind (working from the heart, but with the ambition to achieve something).
Members: Kris Marchi (X-Plus), Jan Da Costa (electrical works), Evi Dejongh (nutrition and exercise coach), Christof Van Remoortel (care homes), Davy Duerinck (bank) and Jan-Baptist De Smedt (notary public)

We are also working with Servier (pharmaceutical company) from now on. We may also feature their podcast episodes on our website. So soon the offer will be expanded with useful information. Be sure to keep following it!

Project operation

Movement project - move more with SuperNils
The exercise project was approved by the Foundation Against Cancer and in hospitals it is seen as a real added value for patients. After all, moving more is good for both body and mind. Through our box of materials, patients are encouraged to do simple movements, in their room, from their bed or seat. But always in a safe environment!
The box contains weights, stretchers, devices to exercise the fingers, balls, ... Clear sheets explain what the patient can do with the materials. For the youngsters among them, there is also a video in which SuperNils demonstrates the movements with the materials. Extra motivation to get started!
Thanks to Warmest Week 2023, we can expand the movement box for the children's wards to include a real "care robot". This robot will become the mechanical friend of the young patient, moving together with them. In turn, the robot provides additional motivation to actually exercise.
Launch motion box in children, end December 2023. In adults, at the end of March 2024. We foresee the expansion with robots in the second half of 2024. Depending on the available budget, 1, 2 or 3 robots will be purchased.

The SuperNils DIY storybook
NPO SuperNils hopes to encourage patients, young and old, to write their own story. This could be a touching story, but also a very exciting or horror story. We challenge everyone to tell their own story.
To get everyone started a bit, a video has been made, in which SuperNils looks for tips on how to write a good story. Mind you, these are tips, we do hope that everyone will really start thinking out of the box and let their own imagination work. You can write (regular story), but you can also draw (comic story) or record a story (audio story). It can't be crazy enough!
The stories will be compiled online and can therefore be read via the website. If enough stories are submitted, we may consider having a real SuperNils Stories book printed. This can then be sold for charity.
Launch is expected in early 2024.

VR package
A very important package for patients in the onco-haematology department. These people are often in quarantine and have to be constantly vigilant not to get infected. After all, their immune system is greatly weakened by the disease. In quarantine, loneliness can sometimes strike. And then VR is the solution!
We provide a box with VR glasses and some alternatives (holders for mobile phones) in our partner hospitals. An application or SuperNils environment is created. Here, patients can very easily look up and watch different videos. Suddenly they are then in the zoo or in a museum, or they are just walking through the park or sitting on a real sailing yacht. SuperNils will upload existing videos, but will also have its own films made. We foresee different themes and topics, so everyone can make their choice.
We are still waiting for possible sponsorship from Foundation Against Cancer (Social grant). We will know the result by the end of November 2023. Then the real development can start. If the Foundation's opinion is negative, we will look for other sponsors, because the project is important and the hospitals really want to work on it.

In the spotlight

Our SuperNils film is ready!
The long-awaited SuperNils film is ready and we are proud of it! You can watch it on the homepage of this website (www.supernils.be). Many thanks to Daan De Beer-Baclaine (actor) and Sam Asaert (cinematographer), but also to the many people who worked behind the scenes to make this project a success.
The film shows in 2.5 minutes what vzw SuperNils is working on. Our gift packages are featured, as well as the exercise package, the SuperNils Sketch Workshop and the VR package. All items that help patients improve their mental well-being. After all, distractions ensure that they are not constantly occupied with the disease, but can also work on their talents or interests.

Help requested

The Warmest Week 2023
Asbl SuperNils is one of the projects chosen for Warmest Week 2023.
The more pennies collected, the better for all projects, including us. So don't hesitate to set up your own charity action.
Mind you, you cannot choose SuperNils. Your pennies go to the King Baudouin Foundation, which then distributes them to all the charities that were chosen.
NPO SuperNils itself will sell wooden, sustainable, yoyos.
We want to sell at least 200 of them at 5 euros each.
People who would like to help us by co-selling our yoyos can let us know at info@supernils.be. We will then agree further how we will organise this.
Thanks in advance for the help!!!
