VITAZ Saint-Nicolas
Our 14th partner hospital.
On Wednesday 25 February 2026, non-profit organisation SuperNils went to visit VITAZ in the beautiful city of Sint-Niklaas. The visit had been postponed in the past, due to severe weather conditions. But today we were really ready!
We were welcomed by a very nice team, one of whose doctors was Vanessa Van Hende. Vanessa has a special place in our hearts, as she was one of Nils' first doctors. A TOP lady, who still talks very nicely about Nils today.
We had ample opportunity to introduce our organisation and offer our materials (VR case, LEGO, online packages, movement case). The team was super enthusiastic and very grateful. The 14th collaboration is a fact.
General membership meeting 2026
It is almost here again! SuperNils' general membership meeting will take place on Wednesday 18 March 2026. We will start promptly at 8pm. The meeting will take place in the beautiful premises of DBT Transport Nieuwmoer. This venue is easily accessible and there is parking next to the building. SuperNils' beach flag will welcome you.
DBT Transport is sponsoring this event by offering both premises and consumption free of charge, for which many thanks!
Members who have not yet registered can still do so via the e-mail you have already received about it. Please know that we need your vote to make certain decisions. Attendance is therefore important to us.

Our podcast
AYAmplified
On Saturday 21 February 2026, non-profit organisation SuperNils travelled to Brussels, where we were welcomed on the premises of Kom op tegen Kanker and were able to engage in conversation with AYAs.
The podcast AYAmplified was also discussed at this event. The reactions of the AYAs present were positive and participation in this project was confirmed. So in 2026, we will start recording AYAmplified, the podcast for and by AYAs.
Project operation
Nilspire Me
It's finally here! We received the budget from DWW for our project "Nilspire Me". And what a great deal! DWW provided the maximum requested budget of €64 495, which will possibly be increased by an additional €2 940.
So on Tuesday 24 February 2026, the first meeting with Purple Panda was immediately organised. There we looked at the budget and compared it with the necessary developments (because yes, the AYAs had additional ideas on Saturday 21/02). The big cost of lawyers (GDPR) was also factored into the concept. Purple Panda prepared new bids, within which the requested features will be included. After that, development could begin in stages.
The AYAs of the KOTK Sounding Board Group are already willing to test with us, which is super!
At the moment, the chat function and the general image of the application are ready. This was realised with pennies from Casa Callenta Brasschaat (DWW 2024).
SuperNils online Studio - starting signal given
The starting signal has also been given for this lovely project. The people of LuKiArt vzw will soon start developing the videos (learning to draw). They will also provide a translation into French so that the project is immediately available to our patients from the French-speaking part of the country.
We ourselves will start shooting videos to knit, crochet, make paper flowers, ... The necessary materials will be provided in the partner hospitals.
Box with smartgames
Soon, we will be able to deliver boxes of smart games to partner hospitals. For this, we are going to talk to a company that lan provide these materials.
They should be different games, easily decontaminated and varying in difficulty. In short, again, fun and distraction for all ages.
Realisation possible thanks to pennies from the year-end campaign and additional sponsorship.
In the spotlight
Collaboration with FLAYA ... imminent!
Next week, we will have a first meeting with the president of FLAYA. During that meeting, we will look at ways in which we can cooperate and strengthen each other.
Collaboration could, for instance, already be possible in the realisation of an interactive Symposium for AYAs (something the AYAs of the Sounding Board Group were wildly enthusiastic about). Furthermore, FLAYA could help us to raise awareness among the target group and raise the profile of our packages. In turn, we can then support by offering our materials for free during FLAYA activities.
Cooperation with KIKOV from Leuven ?
Soon we will sit down with the people from KIKOV, a parents' association for children with cancer, linked to UZ Leuven. During this meeting, we will again look at how we can cooperate and strengthen each other across Flanders.

For our online poetry box
Already some people are working on choosing a beautiful poem and then reciting it and filming it with their mobile phones (landscape). Currently, there are already 4 poems online. But there are obviously many more to come! Do not hesitate and participate in this fun project. For patients, listening to poetry means distraction and relaxation.
Together, we can make this happen.
