Important news items
Happy summer holidays!
The June 2025 newsletter is here a little earlier than usual. Logical too ... in a few weeks, everyone will leave on summer holidays and then there will be no time to read this newsletter. After all, relaxation will be at the top of the agenda then. And rightly so!
Vzw SuperNils wishes everyone a happy and relaxing time ahead. Enjoy each other, family, friends. Enjoy the sun and the occasional fresh rain. Because yes, those are also needed for our green globe.
And let us all keep our fingers crossed that after the holidays our world looks a little different, that all people like each other again, that war and hatred are gone and that great leaders shake hands. It is already our dream. Hopefully one day it will become a reality.
Our podcast
New episodes ...
Within non-profit organisation SuperNils, we do already have plans for some new podcast episodes, but we haven't yet found the time to make them. That is definitely coming, after the summer holidays and after the launch of our VR project.
The following topics are already on the agenda:
- Casa Callenta, our new partner.
- Chat with people from an AYA team. What exactly do they do?
- UZA Foundation, what exactly do they do?
Project operation
SuperNils online studio
As you could already read in the previous newsletter, this project was submitted for a social grant to Foundation Against Cancer. Whether we were chosen, we won't know until the end of November 2025. So we still have to be patient.
What we do already know is that we are going to offer several supportive videos to learn how to draw.
Other techniques will also be covered, so there is something for everyone!
NPO SuperNils was already thinking of making a lucky doll.
The people of ZAS Saint Augustine brought in an additional idea: learning to crochet and then making their own worry friend.
Through various supporting videos, we will assist patients in creating their own creative work.
Nilspire Me app
NPO SuperNils submitted the Nilspire Me application as a project to Warmest Week 2025.
Because yes, AYAs with cancer are also often invisibly ill, preventing them from participating in ordinary life, activities or gatherings.
The application aims to support them in this regard.
Various tools, also provided by AYAs themselves (!), should make their lives a bit more pleasant and easier. Among other things, they will support and prepare for consultations with the doctor, there is the possibility of accessible contact with family, friends and fellow sufferers (chat functions), one can participate in online meetings, there is an AI buddy with whom a game can be played and much more.
We have found Casa Callenta as a partner. They already have 15000 euros for this project, which means we can already have the first steps developed. Possible partner for this is Purple Panda, a company from Antwerp.
And now fingers crossed that we are chosen by the jury of DWW 2025, so that we can have the entire application rolled out.
In the spotlight
SuperNils SuperVerse is coming!!!
It's almost here!
The SuperNils SuperVerse, our big VR project, will be launched very soon.
Venar is currently working on the latest developments, making necessary tweaks so that the system works even better and charging additional features.
Within non-profit organisation SuperNils, we are working on the content of the VR case. Thus, a comprehensive manual will also be added so that everyone can quickly get started with the application.
On Tuesday, 26 August 2025, there will then be the big launch!
It will take place in the auditorium of the UZA in Antwerp-Edegem.
In the presence of several invited guests (we are still discussing this with the UZA) and possibly some AYAs, the project will be presented. People will be able to watch the features on a big screen and wander around the big SuperNils forest.
There will also be a nice stand of SuperNils, where one can get the necessary information about the organisation.
You will even be able to test the VR glasses there yourself.
And you can check out different materials we provide, online and in the hospitals themselves.
It will be worth it!
From 28 August 2025, the VR project will then be available and can be used by patients. We try to deliver the materials to the hospitals before then or just after the launch.

New online campaign via LinkedIn
Next week, on Monday 23 June 2025, we will launch a new media campaign about non-profit organisation SuperNils via LinkedIn. A post will be done every day of the week, at 9am.
We hereby ask you to be sure to check out, like or comment on that post.
That way, we get higher in LinkedIn's system and the post is also shared and distributed further by them.
So please help us make this campaign a success!

Life Cycle Schoten 2025
Our team is still very small!
Help us grow and register quickly via the QR code on the right.
We are especially looking for many walkers, who want to come and walk for team SuperNils in the beautiful park of Schoten. It costs only 10 euros per participant and you support a fantastic cause. Walking can be done between Saturday 6 September 3pm and Sunday 7 September 3pm. It can be done day or night, but just know that we won't be there between 1am and 7am.
Be sure to visit our stand. There, you will get all the information about our operations and you can see materials we offer to AYAs with cancer. And if you want a real glitter tattoo, our staff will be happy to help.
