New collaboration was launched
Vzw SuperNils has entered into a new partnership with "Inloophuis Casa Callenta". The organisation can be found in Brasschaat, at Zwembadweg number 5, in the middle of the beautiful park.
Casa Callenta organises meeting moments for people with cancer, with formative, relaxing and informative offerings. Vzw SuperNils is willing to be present regularly during these moments, to present their offer to patients as well. This way, we can already reach more people from our target group and let them take advantage of the wide range of activities on offer.
Casa Callenta also organises family weekends and AYA weekends for young people with cancer. The non-profit association SuperNils will be present with its mascot to spoil the young people and children present with fun gifts, which they can offer thanks to major sponsor LEGO. It will possibly also be possible to become acquainted with the VR project.
Below is an overview of the weekends that will soon be organised by Casa Callenta.
We have a new shed
Asbl SuperNils is growing and taking a more professional approach to everything. A larger and clearer shed with handy shelves was already a necessity. This way, we can neatly store and list our materials. A full inventory is definitely part of this. This gives us a correct view of our stock and we know what we can distribute to the hospitals. Moreover, in the warehouse there is also space to put together packages, stickers, etc. Very handy!
We do want to thank Bakker Wouters for years of free use of the garage in Nieuwmoer. Until now, this was a beautiful and, above all, useful, usable location. Unfortunately, due to the growth of our organisation, it is now no longer large enough and no longer meets expectations.
GDPR ... also the concern of non-profit organisation SuperNils
Since non-profit organisation SuperNils wants to be in order with all regulations, we had a law firm specialising in this matter look at this item.
First of all, they are putting everything in place for the big VR project, which will be launched in our partner hospitals at the end of August. They will provide the right texts and the necessary steps to follow before and during the use of the VR glasses. All this will be clarified on the website and in the brochure that can be found in the VR case. Patients will thus be properly informed and have to give their approval through a special document.
Furthermore, the GDPR and Privacy Policy on the website will also be reviewed and updated. The necessary documents will be created and visitors to the site will always know what happens to their information. A lot of work, but necessary to be a professional organisation.

Podcast with Peter Genyn
We will soon be recording a podcast episode with our ambassador, Peter Genyn. In that episode, he will definitely point out, how important it is to never give up and keep believing in healing and a bright future.
Podcast with Casa Callenta
It is important to give a new collaboration some exposure. This is why we are going to record a podcast episode with Katrien from Casa Callenta very soon. She will then be able to talk about all that Casa Callenta does for the target group and we can talk together about common goals and achievements.
Project operation
SuperNils' treasure hunt
The film is finally almost ready! We had to wait a long time for good weather and a suitable time to shoot the film "The treasure hunt of SuperNils".But now it is finally here!
The shooting has been done, in the beautiful Kalmthoutse Heide and the film is currently being professionally edited and provided with music, sounds and text.
The film will soon be available on the website, among our interactive packages. It is intended to trigger patients, young and old, to draw a picture, create a comic or write a story about the treasure SuperNils has found. The stories submitted at info@supernils.be will be published on the website, where everyone can view and read them.
Another package that can provide much-needed distraction and relaxation.
Thanks to Motus Media for filming and finishing, Evi De Jongh playing the lead role and J&J Innovative Medecine (Janssen Pharmaceutica) for sponsorship.
VR package SuperNils SuperVerse
The VR package is nearing its official launch at the end of August 2025. Currently, the finishing touches are being made to refine the environment, fine-tune it based on feedback from the test hospitals and integrate content film material. GDPR regulations are also being professionally addressed and integrated.
Additional VR glasses will soon be purchased and installed so that we can supply each partner hospital.
Financial support from Roche NV will allow two more new games to be integrated.
Soon, we will also shoot additional 360° videos. Arrangements for this are being made now.
"Wings of Hope" information folder
The folders were delivered and the contents are currently being printed. This will normally be ready by the end of next week. After that, the folders can be distributed to the first hospitals. Patients attending Casa Callenta meetings or one of their weekends will also receive such a folder.
In the spotlight
Welcome new partner hospitals
As of now, vzw SuperNils supports 11 hospitals.
ZAS Middelheim, ZAS Jan Palfijn and ZAS Sint Augustinus were recently added.
In the near future, the group will be joined by CHU de Liège, Saint-Luc Brussels and Jules Bordet Brussels.
Because we also want to work across the language border and hospitals often admit people who do not speak Dutch/French, brochures are now produced in three languages (Dutch, French and English). In this way, we hope we can still provide everyone with the necessary information.
Help requested
Team SuperNils is looking for walkers/runners
On 6 and 7 September 2025, it's that time again. Then we will walk for 24 hours in support of people with cancer. We will do so in the Park of Schoten. Vzw SuperNils will be there with an info-stand, where you can get to know our operation and offer.
You can support us by walking with us (of course, you don't have to walk for 24 hours!). Sign up via the QR code and deposit 10 euros for team SuperNils. Do it now so you don't forget for sure :).
