REMEMBER !!!
Many people have their own website or blog, which they brighten up with beautiful drawings or images. They often get these from the internet.
So too did we to make our website beautiful and attractive. Until we got a message from Copytrack. This company scans the internet to look for illegally used images. And what turned out ... SuperNils had used 1 image that apparently had a licence requirement on it.
After proper verification of the authenticity of the claim (at computer crime unit police and FPS economy) and after contacting the owner of the ticket, it turned out that we had to pay a fine of ... 450 euros!!! This has since been taken care of. The print was also immediately removed from the website.
The entire website has now been screened by us and all images adjusted where necessary (own material may of course remain). We now use images from the programme Canva Pro, for which we pay a licence and whose prints/photos we are therefore allowed to use (are included in the licence).
CAUTION when building your own website. Don't just pluck images from the net. Always check carefully whether licences have to be paid or whether the images are copyright protected. It can cost you a lot of money. An informed man/woman is worth two!

Our podcast

Podcast asbl SuperNils - Servier
In June, a podcast about non-profit organisation SuperNils was recorded in a professional studio, commissioned by Servier. we are still waiting for its release. After that, it will certainly be available to listen to on our website (podcast page).

Project operation

Movement project completed
Our movement project has been fully completed. Following feedback from the hospitals, additional materials were purchased and additional boxes were filled. These will be distributed to our 6 partner hospitals during September.
The final report for Foundation Against Cancer was prepared and sent.

VR project on track
The development of the VR project is going entirely according to schedule. Soon, some glasses will already be distributed in UZA and AZ Klina and the programme can be tested. After feedback from the hospitals and patients involved, an information brochure/manual will be developed. This will then be added to the glasses so that patients can easily get started with the project themselves.
What do we already have on offer?
- SuperNils' VR environment with its own Avatar
- Movement game
- Ability to view 360° movies
- Opportunity to connect with family and peers
- Start of a content project, with info around illness and other important issues
Meanwhile, the second tranche was also deposited from DWW 2023, allowing us to further develop the project. From the Social Grant from Foundation Against Cancer, we are still expecting the payment of two tranches. From the Levensloop-grant 2024 (Foundation against Cancer), the amount has also already been deposited, which means we can now really roll out the content project in full.

In the spotlight

Levensloop Schoten
We would like to once again highlight Levensloop Schoten 2024.
This activity will take place in Schoten park (by the castle) on Saturday 7 September 2024 (start 3pm) and Sunday 8 September 2024 (end 3pm). So we will again move for 24 hours for charity.
Vzw SuperNils still needs many participants! So register quickly, by clicking on the print to the right. Participation costs only 10 euros, but means a lot! Thanks in advance.

Help requested

Candle lighting ceremony Life Cycle Schoten
Vzw SuperNils, and more specifically our co-founder Leona Koninckx, is responsible for organising the candle ceremony. Preparing the bags around the entire course is quite a job, for which we can always use helping hands.
If you like this, send a quick message to leona.koninckx@supernils.be and get registered as a volunteer. That way you are insured, should anything happen (tipping a foot can happen quickly in nature).
