Move along with SuperNils

Page for AYAs and adults

Exercise is hugely important, even when you are ill. For people with a serious illness, however, this is not always obvious. They feel weak, often lie in isolation in their rooms, cannot go to the sports club or just to the park to exercise.
This often makes them stay in their beds and watch TV. Of course that is allowed, especially if you are not feeling so well.
Nevertheless, non-profit organisation SuperNils wants to continue to motivate patients to move, even if it is just a little bit. Every movement can make you feel better and can support the healing process. Therefore, together with physiotherapists from the hospital (AZ Delta Roeselare), we developed a movement kit, with various materials linked to a number of simple movements, which you can do in your room, some even from your bed or seat.
Always listen carefully to your body and the doctors. If you feel you can't do it, wait a day before starting. Also, build up your movements slowly. Don't try too much at once. Let your body get used to light exercise again. That way, you will feel better and your body can regain some strength.
Have fun with our movement case (order it from your ward nurses or physiotherapists).

Movement sheets

On this page you will find all the sheets, which are also in the movement case. They explain which movements you can do, with the various materials.
Explanations are given with words, but also via two pictures.

If you want to keep moving at home too, you can! Alternatives are also offered on the sheets for most of the materials, so you can get started without a movement kit as well.

You can then find the explanation on this page!

To measure is to know!

For non-profit organisation SuperNils, it is important to know what you think of our movement case.

Are the exercises clear and are they achievable? Do you use the suitcase regularly or only occasionally? Are there any exercises missing that you would like to do? Or are there materials in short supply?

Therefore, please fill in the evaluation document, which you will find in the suitcase, for us. That way, we can make the suitcase even better together. Please hand the form to the nurse, she will deliver it to us. Thank you in advance.

It can be even easier! Click on the yellow star above and fill in the evaluation form digitally. That way, your feedback will reach SuperNils immediately!

The opinion of healthcare staff is also important to us ...

REMEMBER for possibly FALL DANGER! Do these exercises best when accompanied by the kiné or when there is someone present in the room. That way, they can always help you if you lose your balance.
